Welcome to the West Pymble P&C Association
West Pymble Public School is a lovely community school which we are all very proud of. The Parents & Citizens Committee is proud to support the school by providing resources and funding to supplement and compliment the environment provided at the school.
The committee meets twice per term and we love seeing new faces! We are a social bunch and love to discuss and brainstorm ideas on how to make our school better for everyone. New members are always welcome and we encourage you to attend when you can – a little bit of time really does go a long way. Be prepared to have a laugh and share ideas. The only thing you need to bring is your positive attitude and .... 50c to join the P&C (it's a legal thing, just go with it!).
The P&C is run by an elected executive, comprising President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and nominated parents. In addition, elected Leaders take responsibility to head up committees covering the key areas of interest to the school community. Officers and Leaders are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in February each year.
As a P&C committee, we've agreed on the following goals:
create and promote a co-operative and collaborative environment for everyone - students, teachers, parents & the broader community
raise funds to support additional needs within the school
help coordinate communication with parents co-ordination of communication within the school
provide social and community support within the school
We believe in leading by example and demonstrating to our children the importance of a strong and caring community spirit. By working closely with the teachers and the students, the P&C committee supports the school which in turn helps our children’s school experience be the best it can be.
"We are so lucky at West Pymble to have the support of the parent community. In addition to all the time parents and carers volunteer to assist in class rooms and other projects that take place, we are also fortunate to receive very generous monetary contributions. These funds go towards each teacher being granted $100 to be spent on valuable resources for their class that enrich student learning. In 2015, we were also able to employ Miss Jillian Allsop to use her incredible expertise to support Literacy in Stage 1. This early intervention enables those children that require extra time to understand various concepts to be able to perform to the best of their ability."
Tim Simpson, Assistant Principal
We are also a member of the P&C Federation of NSW.
