P&C - 2018 Welcome letter to new WPPS families
Dear WPPS Parents and Carers,
On behalf of the West Pymble Public School Parents and Citizens Association we would like to welcome you to our school.
WPPS has an active and generous school community. The P&C coordinate several initiatives and events throughout the year to foster school and community spirit as well as raise funds for important projects and resources. To learn more about the role of the P&C and how you can be involved please visit the P&C website.
We encourage all WPPS families to come along to a P&C meeting, join the P&C committee and or participate in our events and fundraising activities throughout the year. Here is some information about some of the upcoming P&C initiatives and events in 2018:
Tea & Tissues – Friday 2nd of February
There can be a lot of mixed emotions on the first day of kindy – for the kids and their parents! Kindy parents and carers are invited to a ‘Tea & Tissues’ morning tea, hosted by Jackie Foley, on Friday 2nd February.
Address: 7 Tristania Place, West Pymble.
Time: Straight after drop-off until midday.
Term 1 - P&C Meetings
Attending a P&C meeting is a great way to meet teachers and other parents, as well as learn more about what the P&C does within our school community. In Term 1 our meetings will be held in the school library as follows:
Monday 12th February, 7.30 pm
Friday 23rd February, 9.15 am
Welcome Night – Friday 23rd of February, 7pm
Kindy parents, as well as new and current parents, are invited to a P&C social event to kick start the year! Our Welcome Night is held on the same night as ‘meet the teacher’, and is in the school hall and cola area. It is an adult only event. Tickets are $15.00 per person, and include one drink plus light refreshments. We had a great turn out at the 2017 event with over 75 parents attending. We hope you can make it!
Tickets are available via Try Booking: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=338811
Kiss and Drop Zone
As you may be aware we have a Kiss and Drop zone in Apollo Avenue. In 2017 the P&C focused on increasing safety practices for children and drivers in this area. Please ensure that you visit our P&C Blog to read about how the Kiss and Drop zone operates.
The P&C team oversees the canteen at WPPS. We have an amazing team that runs the canteen on a day to day basis, and we have an excellent group of Mums, Dads and grandparents that volunteer on a regular basis. Kids love to see their family members working at the canteen!
To see our canteen menu, or to register your interest in volunteering at the canteen, visit the Canteen page on our P&C website.
‘That’s Mine’ Label Offer
The P&C has created a fundraising initiative with the online store ‘That’s Mine’ labels. If you purchase labels as part of this initiative WPPS will receive a 25% commission on all sales. For more information and to access the unique code see our P&C Blog post. It’s an easy and simple way to assist with school fundraising so please consider this as an option for your back to school needs.
