Trivia Night 2018 - FAQs

What is Trivia Night?

It is THE WPPS event of the year! This event is the P&C’s major fundraising initiative. We aim to raise $20,000 through ticket sales, live and silent auctions, donations and sponsorship. Last year we raised just over $19,000 which was an amazing result.

When is it?

Friday 15th of June, 2018. We kick off at 7pm and the night usually ends by 11.30pm. The event is in our school hall.

What is the Trivia Night’s theme in 2018?

This year our theme is ‘Night at the Movies so come dressed in your most creative movie/actor/actress inspired costume. The costume element to Trivia Night is serious business, so be sure to dress up to be in the running to win Best Costume.

How much are the tickets?

Early bird offer (purchased before 1st of June): $35 per person

General tickets (purchased after 1st of June): $40 per person

Tickets purchased at the door on the night of the event: $50 per person

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are sold online through Try Booking from Monday 14th of May. We will share the Try Booking link with you via Facebook and Schoolzine.

Please note that tickets are not sold at the school office.

How many people per table?

Tables are in groups of 10 people. When you purchase your tickets you can nominate who else will be on your table.

Who can attend?

You must be over 18 years old. Friends of WPPS families can attend. The more the merrier!

I’d love to go but I don’t have a table to join, what should I do?

Check with your class parent as he/she may be putting together a table. Or, check with other parents in your class, they may also be looking for a table. Otherwise you can book a table and the P&C team will allocate you to table that is looking for extras – a great way to meet new friends!

Can I buy food and drink on the night?

This event is BYO food and alcohol. There is no catering provided so please bring your own food and drinks.

How can I help?

There are loads of ways to help the organising committee, such as:

  • Be a sponsor or help us to secure sponsorship and prizes from local businesses

  • Donate goods for auction and or prizes on the night

  • Help with the pre-event planning

  • Set up on the day

  • Pack down at the end of the night (this is always hilarious!)

If you are interested in assisting please email or speak to one of the P&C team.

What prizes are there on the night?

Prizes galore….

  • Best costume (bragging rights of course!)

  • Lucky door prizes

  • Trivia winners

All prizes are donations from our local business and school community.

How does the auction work?

There will be a mix of live and silent auctions on the night.

What other ways can I donate on the night?

There will be other games and opportunities to participate and donate to the school on the night so bring your cash and credit cards!

I can’t attend the night but can I still make a donation?

Yes! Email our P&C Treasurer to make a financial donation -

Items for auction will be promoted on the P&C Facebook page so don’t forget to take a look. If you see an item you really want to bid on but cannot be there let us know and we can organise a proxy bid for you.

Will there be credit card facilities on the night for extra donations or to pay for auction items?

Yes! We will have credit card facilities available on the evening for any auction items purchased, and we will accept cash also. Don’t forget to bring cash and loose change (gold coins) on the evening for more fun and games.

Can you tell me a little bit more about Sponsorship….

If you are interested in sponsoring this event, or know someone else that might be, please contact the P&C President Bob Keen – P&C President – to discuss further.
